We the Glanmire/Riverstown ICA are small group who meet on the Second Wednesday of each month at 8.30pm in Sars Pavilion, Riverstown, Glanmire, where we have a social evening. We do painting on Monday evening in the Community Centre. We also have speakers on various topics.

We bring women together in fellowship and through co-operative effort, develop and improve the standard of rural and urban life in Ireland having due regard for our Irish culture and to encourage the use of the Irish language in the affairs of Bantracht na Tuaithe. We engage in a variety of activities including gardening, flowers, drama, keep fit, local history, dancing, foreign travel and crochet.
We meet on first Tuesday of each month.

This club has been established in response to a need identified by young people in research in the Glanmire area. It has commenced ‘Themed Film Nights’ one Saturday a month. Also a group of local young people have been trained by Cork Film Centre in film production.

Glanmire House of Rock - Music Group

Between forty and fifty teenagers attend the group where tutors give lessons for several different instruments. Music groups and bands are also formed and are encouraged to perform in concerts, music videos and to make studio recordings. Bands and artists from the project have been played on RED FM and recorded by RTE. This group has become a musical hub for young musicians from Glanmire, where skills, idea’s, music and camaraderie are shared.

This group is composed of youth nominees from the various sports and leisure organisations in the area as well as nominations from both secondary schools, residence associations and young people who are not involved in any activities. The participants are between 14 and 18 years of age. We aim to be a voice for our peers on the various issues that affect youth in the community and to actively lobby to improve the facilities and services for youth in Glanmire. We are currently trying to secure a Youth Café as a priority for the area.

This is an Ógra Chorcaí Project with a local management committee and is suported by the V.E.C. and the Cork Local Drugs Task Force. A team of volunteers also assist the project in the provision activities. The project aims to work with the many teenagers in the Glanmire area in an empowering and supportive manner. We Endeavour to improve the quality of life, and the services available to the young people living in Glanmire. We pay special attention to those in need of extra support.
