In our school, we have a total of
eleven computers, three of which are PC’s and the rest are Acorns. The three
PC’s are top class and we use them frequently while we have great software for the
Acorns and they are much easier to use.
We use and learn a lot from the Internet in our school. As you can
see we even have our own website. We use the computers in some projects where we work on
clip art and search for information in encyclopaedias. As a result of this we are able to
produce very good work.
Our Acorn Computers are very handy also because the younger
children get used to the basics before they move on the PC’s. In the fifth and sixth
classroom we have two Acorns with our PC’s. There are three Acorn computers in the
third and fourth classroom and three in the first and second class room.
It was a great success to get our website up on the Internet with
the help of Stanley Ten Dam. He was a student teacher when he was with us in St. Leonards
but now he is teaching in Holland. He was very talented with computers and still is.
