BURIAL IN HOME PARISH OF OOLA:

On 29 May 1968 Captain E.J. Landers' body was returned to his native Ireland arriving at Dublin Airport, escorted by Captain Barnes, United States Army and Sergeant H. Dewald, United States Air Force, his brother-in-law. His casket was draped in the flag of The United States and was brought to the village church at Oola the same day; where it lay overnight after a short religious ceremony.

The following day, after Requiem Mass, Captain E. J. Landers was buried in the local cemetery in Oola. There were poignant scenes as the flag was ceremoniously folded and presented to his widow, Mrs. Teresa Landers, before his casket was lowered into the ground
