Tíreile are : Rodney Lancashire and
Stephanie Geremia. The duo came together in 2003 and released an album
in the autumn of that year. They are based in County Sligo and play
regularly around the North-West of Ireland.
They
have toured extensively in Europe and America. Their music is a mixture of
traditional Irish dance tunes and songs. Their title album includes a
versatile and interesting selection of material.
Stephanie
Geremia (flute, vocals), born in New York, has lived and played music
around Sligo for many years. She has learned most of her music from
Séamus and Colm O'Donnell, Carmel Gunning and Peter Horan. She studied
music and received a B.A. from Wesleyan University in America and is
currently studying for her Masters Degree in traditional Irish music at
the University Of Limerick.
Rodney
Lancashire (bouzouki, mandolin, concertina) is originally
from County Cavan. He has been
greatly influenced by players such
as Paddy Ryan and Peter Horan as well as John Faulkner and Andy
Irvine. He has toured England, Europe and America with various
traditional groups and has appeared on numerous television and radio
programmes.
