Details Procedure

I work from life, requiring approximately 8-10 hours for sittings over an agreed period (sessions usually 1-2 hours by arrangement). These sittings can take place in the studio in London or Dublin. The clay thus produced is cast in bronze at the foundry and then chemically treated to produce a patination to be chosen by the client (as is the type of base on which the piece will sit.)

The sitting time can be shortened by 2-3 hours by the use of initial measurements and photography.

As an artist my intentions are to produce a likeness which expresses both the outward appearance of the subject and the inner life which gives this appearance its personality and vivacity. In addition to impart to the piece a quality of existence as sculpture.
