2001/2002 Match Report #12
eircom National League First Division
Two players went through fitness tests pior to match in Finn Park, but David Whittle and Kevin O'Brien came through with flying colours as the Blues long drive to Donegal was a happy one. After the disappointment of the 3-3 draw with Cobh Ramblers the Blues produced one of their best performances of the season and getting 3 points for it. A well placed shot into the roof of the net by Gary Dempsey left the home crowd in complete silence. Harps then came at the blues but Paul Binder and his defence kept everything at bay. Finn Harps equalised in the second half from a well struck free kick from Player/Manager Johnathen Speak. It looked as if the Blues had blown all their hard work until that man Gary Dempsey struck again with a perfectly timed shot into the bottom corner. A really excellent result in Ballybofey not many teams will win up here, this result is just what the blues needed and hopefully we can keep up this sort of performance against Drogheda on Friday. |
