This was a very commanding performance by the young blues who took UL apart with their passing and quickness of attack. Jason Bowman can be very proud of how his team performed and showed a lot of promise for the future.

Moroney was back playing for the Blues and his direct approach to goal gave Waterford the lead. Aaron pick up the ball 40 yards out and beat three players before shooting low into the bottom left hand corner. A great through ball from Brian Mallon saw Joe Watson score his first of two goals, when he hammmered passed the keeper from a tight angle. Watsons pace up front was causing major headaches for UL, and just before half time Joeys speed got him to ball first when he was second favourite and he drove the ball passed the keeper into the net. The performances of Paddy Dooley at right back, Brain Mallon and Michael Heffernan in Midfield, and the front two Moroney and Watson was superb.

Musical entertainment
The Dutch had a Band.
The Blues had Adam Burke the Lone trumpeter.

The second half started at a slow pace as Waterford already had this game won, but they continued to pass around the ball and it was Damien Cullen wide on the left who stood out and looked very comfortable on the ball. Aaron Moroney scored twice more to complete his hatrick, and looked very alert and composed in forward areas. The introduction of John Foley (16 from Enniscorthy), by the manager added a little bit more excitement late in the match as he also ran at defenders at every opportunity.
