Fennelly
goes on Transfer List
Anthony
Fennelly who signed for the Blues in June 2000 as under study
to Michael Devine has been placed on the transfer list by his
own request.
Fennelly has not played for the Blues since September 8th's defeat
in Sligo. During this game in the Showgrounds Fennelly injured
his right leg, but stayed on the pitch to finish the game. Since
then Paul Binder has replaced him between the posts and in fairness
has done nothing wrong for PP to drop him for the fit again Fennelly.
Fennelly came to the Blues from Cork City where he still is on
the FAS soccer course under the guidance of Liam Murphy. The return
of Karl Mounty back to Swansea in December 2000 gave Fennelly
his big break with the Blues which he took with both hands performing
well for the rest of the season in the Blues League matches and
FAI Cup campaign. Fennelly transfer request shows his frustation
at sitting on the bench for the last 5 matches.
