  League Cup 2001/2002

Waterford United received the worst possible draw for the Quarter Final of the League Cup when they were paired with Derry City away in the Brandywell. Derry city's home record this season is the best in the Premier Division and the game will take place midweek in January 2002.

Quarter Final Draw

Derry City V Waterford United
Cork City V Limerick
St Pats V Bohemians
Longford United V Shamrock Rovers

With 5 teams getting on bye into the Quarter Final, Waterford were unlucky to receive a tie in the second round, the only consolation is that we received a home tie against Drogheda United which will be played on Tuesday 21st of November.

Second Round Draw

Longford Town V UCD
Sligo Rovers V St Pats
Waterford United V Drogheda United
Byes: Limerick, Shamrock Rovers, Bohs, Derry City + Cork City

The Blues have been drawn at home to Kilkenny City in the First Round of the League Cup. When you look at this draw in full (see below), every game is a local derby, which is another interesting venture by the FAI. when was this draw made and who was present? With 11 teams going into the second round how will the mighty decide who goes into the Quarter final. No doubt 4 Dublin teams through already.

First Round Draw

Bohemians v Dublin City Waterford United v Kilkenny City
Bray Wanderers v UCD Sligo Rovers v Monaghan United
Drogheda United v Dundalk Finn Harps v Derry City
St Francis v St Patricks Athletic Galway United v Limerick
Shelbourne v Shamrock Rovers Longford Town v Athlone Town
Cobh Ramblers v Cork City
