  WATERFORD UNITED MANAGER SACKED

6th November 2001

Paul Power has been sacked by WUFCPLC.

The Directors wanted the players to pay their own fines when they got yellow and red cards on the field of play. PP sstuck up for his players and refused to agree with the decision of the directors. If players have to play their own fines, surely they would not enter into a tackle in case of fine being taken from wages over the Christmas period.

Paul Power tells Tubby that "He has resumed his duties this afternoon by coaching on FAS scheme. He is still manager of Waterford United until told otherwise by directors."

Events such as this, are happening in Waterford United FC for the last 16 years and were also happening before this in the time of Waterford FC. When are we going to get people on the Board of Directors who actually care about Waterford football.
