Jimmy McGeough unvieled at Press Conference in Tower Hotel
After the departure of Paul Power in December the Blues Directors
finally selected the man to lead us to the promised land. They
did not rush into a decision to appoint a new boss as Brendan
Rea and Paul Scully were doing an excellent job as caretaker bosses.
The recepetion that Jimmy received was tremendous as nearly 100
Blues fans packed in to see the Belfast man that won four league
titles with the Blues in the sixties and seventies before departing
to America in 1972. Jimmy was delighted to see Michael Walsh still
as kit manager as they were reunited before the large attendance.
Even though Jimmy said "thats Prince Charles not Michael
Walsh". Jimmy then asked the older contingent present what
they thought of his new hair style which caused quite a laugh
around the room, as Jimmy had groomed hair and flowing locks when
he last appeared in the Blue Jersey in Kilcohan Park. After answering
other questions about local players and his 8 week contract, Jimmy
then talked about getting the Blues into Europe, which is something
we have all heard before, and didn't not really want to hear again.
Lets just get into the Premier Division by winning six of our
eight remaining matches and then worry about the future then.
