Texturing Stockings In Paint Shop Pro

The point of this tutorial is to show you how easy it is, using Paint Shop Pro (The principle is the same in PhotoShop), to create some great stockings on your Poser women.

The first step is to open the body texture map you want to use in Poser in Paint Shop Pro. Then in the same time, in Poser load the texture map onto the character of your choice, and if you want to use a garter, load the garter (or in my case the Biker Short with garter texture and transmap). Then in Paint Shop Pro create a vector line (thickness 3) like this ( this should create a new vector layer):
Save the picture under a name that you will recognize, eg: Model_Black_Stockings.jpg and use this texture on your model in Poser. Now adjust the line by moving it up or down in Paint Shop Pro so it coincide with the clip of the garter in Poser, like this:
Now, copy this line and paste it (Ctrl+G) underneath the first one like this:
Now, paste the line one more time but on the back side of the model in the texture map, like this:
Save the texture map and then, once again, move it up or down in Paint Shop Pro so the side will coincide with the top line in the front like this:
Now paste the line one more time and make it coincide with front bottom line, like this:
Now in Paint Shop Pro, create a new raster layer and set the transparency to 55% and name it as you wish:
Then create two rectangular selection and fill them up in black (or white, red, whatever the color of your stockings, like this:
Now in Paint Shop Pro, create a new raster layer and set the transparency to 40% and name it as you wish:
Then select the remainder of the legs and three quarter of the feet and fill them up in black, like this:
Now in Paint Shop Pro, create a new raster layer and set the transparency to 80% and name it as you wish. Then select and paint the remainder of the feet, like this:
At this stage you can save your work, its finished. Now if you want you add little details in the seam as you wish, but the principle is always the same: Play around the layers. So have fun, and if you have any questions drop me a mail, I will be happy to answer.
