SEA ANGLING 1995 (Downings)

This was the last full season of the old Mari Patria. The photo on the left shows the skipper T. Ryder with Hans (Holland, nearest the camera) some 4/5 miles from Downings on a perfect summer day. There was even time for a barbecue!!
We boated eight shark that day, all were released alive after tagging.

Joe has now graduated to fly fishing for pollack and has (Dec. 2000) 5 IGFA World Records with a sixth pending.

During the Summer - Autumn season a total of 15 specimens were landed in the Sheephaven Bay area, comprising of 7 varieties (5 specimen Blue shark).
The shark count for the year on the Mari Patria was about 80 the majority of which were released unharmed after tagging.
