SEA ANGLING 1999 (Downings)

 

A poor year weather wise, but there were a few welcome signs of things to come. For the first time in 15 years small Porbeagles were caught. A new I.G.F.A. world record fly caught Pollack landed. A number of tope again for the second year in a row, and Irish specimen weight Mackerel, Grey, Red and Tub Gurnards, Pollock, Blue Shark and Torsk were taken from the area.

 

During the Summer and Autumn a total of 9 specimen fish of 5 varieties. Shark fishing was very poor with only 20 Blue shark being boated on the Mari Patria.
