TUNA ANGLING (Downings)
October 2000 saw the first Bluefin Tuna caught on rod and line off Downings. The fish pictured on the left came in at a respectable 344 pounds weight.
Pictured with the fish is Michael McVeigh (the proud angler…on his own boat which was guest skippered by Dan Shannon (USA)).
So next year 2001, its Tuna for September and October in Downings.
