My thoughts on used cars
Buying a used car Inspecting the Car Other issues buying Things to look out for when selling

Other issues buying

When your buying a car privately there is always the risk of been defrauded.  This risk can be reduced by:

  • Checking if there is any outstanding finance on the car (A search on google will reveal a number of companies who provide this service)

  • Checking if the car reg is valid

  • Noting whether there is any damage to the doors surrounding the locks

  • Noting whether there is too many holes in the reg plates

  • Meet the seller at their home not yours

  • Try and get a landline phone number and find out as much information as possible about the seller e.g. where they work.

  • Check is the seller down as the registered owner of the vehicle

  • If the alarm does not work you need to ask why?
