Things to look out for when selling

International Buyers
Watch out for international buyers. No one in
their right mind would want to import a car from Ireland (due to
taxes cars are a lot more expensive here). So unless the car is
something very special (perhaps a classic) do not entertain
anybody who wants to buy the car without actually seeing the
vehicle. For your information how these guys work is that they
send you a cheque for shipping and the car, you forward on the
payment to the shipper meanwhile a few days later your informed
by your bank that your cheque has bounced!! |

Classifieds
ads
If your advertising a car on the internet you can
expect lots of calls from classified companies (usually
magazines with dwindling circulations) many of these are genuine
enough but there is an English company in particular who will
claim to have buyers already lined up to buy your car at an even
higher price than your looking for. They relieve you of 80
sterling and you never hear from them again!! |
