The Nissan Serena people-carrier (MPV, or Multi-Purpose Vehicle) is a cheap way into this currently fashionable form of family motoring. Although it provides plenty of room for up to eight people, it can't compete with more refined MPVs such as the Espace, Galaxy, Sharan and so on when it comes to comfort, handling and performance. It's best viewed as a load-lugging van with seats.
