Branch News - Establishment of Branch

The New Branch to be known as the VEC Branch will become effective on June 1st 2005. VEC IMPACT members will cease to the members of their local branches, but will still have access to the offices of their full time IMPACT local official.

City of Dublin VEC members have joined with the remaining Committees in the formation of this Branch.
The Branch will be open to VEC IMPACT members.

OFFICERS ELECTED
Chairman: Mr. Paul Carey, City of Limerick VEC.
Secretary: Ms. Emer Walsh, City of Cork VEC.
Treasurer: Mr. Kevin O’Brien, Sligo VEC.
A Committee of nineteen will supply the remaining officers and regional representative.

Mr. Kevin O’Brien, Treasurer, will write to each VEC regarding the stopping of the VEC Vocational Group Levy.

Applications for new members should be forwarded to the Secretary, Emer Walsh c/o City of Cork VEC, Coláiste Stiofáin Noafa, Tramore Road, Cork.

The New Branch will be serviced by Mr. Al Butler, National Secretary. Please consult with IMPACT News for more details.

Retirement of Al Butler
Mr. Al Butler, IMPACT National Secretary, will officially retire in July 2005. On behalf of our members we wish to thank him sincerely for a decade of sterling service to the VEC Vocational Group.

End of Era
As we move towards the establishment of the VEC Branch, I wish to acknowledge and thank all past officers, committee members, and negotiating teams who kept the flag flying for over three decades. A huge debt of gratitude is owing to each one of you. I wish the incoming executive of the Branch every success, and the effectiveness of this Branch will be dependent on the contributions of all members.
