• Understand the importance of caring for a horse. Pay particular attention to feeding, watering, grooming and basic animal health.
• Spend at least one day in the company of someone who works in an equestrian environment.
• Have a working knowledge of riding equipment, clothing, tack, rules of the road and safety equipment.
• Complete an equestrian activity that challenges your skills. This may possibly involve interested members of your group.
• Organise a day trip to an equestrian centre for interested members of your group.
