• Know how to tie and demonstrate the main knots, lashings and other devices used in Scout pioneering. Know how to maintain the ropes and other pioneering equipment and know the safety procedures involved.
• With other members of your group, construct an obstacle course for your unit.
• Build and display a pioneering structure for your community.
• Spend a night on a pioneering structure, at least 2 metres off the ground, which you have built.
