- Join your local rock-climbing club and learn how
to identify and use the equipment necessary for safe
climbing.
- Learn and understand the universal climbing calls
for safe climbing and the rules and practices of an
indoor climbing wall.
- Become a competent belayer.
- Lead an indoor climbing wall with a height no
less than eight metres.
- Take part in at least ten outdoor climbing
sessions with a qualified instructor.
- Learn and understand the traditional grading
system, including understanding a rock climbing guide book.
- Traditionally lead three outdoor rock climbs with
a grade no less than hard severe.
