The school opened in 1950 and has grown steadily over the years.   Our present enrolment is approximately 320 students.

Aim

Our  aim in this school is to provide the best possible learning environment so that our students have every opportunity to achieve their full potential. In this way, they are prepared to take their places in society as mature, competent and productive young citizens. The standard curriculum to Leaving Certificate, together with the wide range of extra-curricular activities available, provide our pupils with the solid foundation for satisfying and rewarding careers. We believe that the caring ethos of our school further strengthens and enriches the learning environment. This, allied to our comprehensive range of subject choice, equips our young people to meet the challenges of tomorrow – these may lie in the domain of third level education, further training or in the world of work.
