A group of forty travelled and stayed at the Aqua Marina Hotel outside Barcelona. The group went to numerous places of interest including the Olympic Stadium, Port Adventura one of the most exciting theme parks in Europe, the Shrine at Montserrat high in the mountains outside Barcelona, the Nou-Camp Stadium home of Barcelona’s soccer team, the Old Town and the unusual architecture of Gaudi one of Barcelona’s famous sons. In the evenings, there were lots of activities at the hotel ranging from swimming, ten pin bowling and tennis during the day to flamenco-dancing, karaoke and discos at night. With so much to do, the students had little difficulty sleeping at night. The students travelled by various modes of transport including coaches, ferries, aeroplanes, cable cars and even white knuckle rides at Port Adventura. The tour was enjoyed by teachers and students alike and voted a great success. Mr Coffey was the Tour Organiser.
