RIGHTS OF WAY IN DONEGAL

When you hillwalk in donegal, somebody owns the ground on which you walk. and you are their invited or uninvited guest! You might see the fences or you might walk for miles and see none whatsoever. the main exception is Glenveagh nation park.
Most landowners do not mind small groups of people crossing their land, but please remember that these people depend on this land for their income!
Basic rules: ---
· No dogs (maybe with permission, on a lead only)
· If a gate is closed, close it after you
· If the gate is open,do not touch
· Do not stand on any wire fences---you may not see the damage
· If you have to pass through a farm-yard,please be quiet
· Do not touch machinery or any farm eqipment/crops that you may see.
· If you meet any farmer in the hill, do not be afraid to ask directions.these people do not need maps on their land, unlike us mere walkers. Remember if in doubt ask any farmer for directiions

Do not leave your litter behind! thank you.
The more litter you leave behind, the less hills we will be allowed to walk
