HISTORY OF SCHOOL

The current Walshestown school was established in 1965. There has been many principals and teachers over the years. The first principal was P.J Ward. Then came Gerry Kelly(current principal of Tullydonnell Co. Louth). The current teachers are Jim Griffin (1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd), Chris Sharkey (junior and senior infants) , and Declan Breathnach (4^th, 5^th and 6^th). Mr breathnach has been teaching for 11years, Mr Griffin 7years and Mrs Sharkey 40 years.
