Golden Mile Summer
Series - Week 6, Thursday June 12th. Sorry all, have to pack for Corfu so a very short few words tonight! It was great to see the return of Pat Giles to out little group, and a brilliant return it was in 6minutes flat. Likewise Darryl Hale finished first in the 2nd race in a brilliant 5.44. James Sullivan showed us all to run a tactical race and ended David Burke's winning spree. David you'll have to do a lot more sly training out in the Sports Complex in Kilmacow! Aaron Colbert again got under the 6mins, a nice way to say farewell as he heads to Spain for 3 months...bring those Nikes with you! Eohgan Quinn stepped up a gear tonight and ran in teh top race, finishing in a new pb of 5.08, fantastic for a Junior Cert student! Well done to Celine and Fiona Carroll who again had terrific runs and a special congratulations to Niamh for completing her first mile in a fantastic 8.44, with a bit of fuel left in the tank I think, so we'll be looking for an improvement next week. Peter Francis was the winner of race 5 chased by Kevin Cooper. Brendan Aspel and Des Colbert continued improving their times despite the wind on the home stretch. Michael Leechmere, again missing in action for some time, won the last race in a comfortable 6.23 followed by more improvers such as Bernie Power and Maura O'Doherty. There will be a distinct lack of updates to the site over the next week or so.
