Waterford Road Runners
Golden Mile Summer Series - Week 9, Thursday July 3rd.
20 people came along to enjoy our penultimate night's racing at the RSC. Next week, Thursday 20th of July marks the 10th and last week of the Waterford Road Runner's Golden Mile Summer Series. To mark the occasion and to honour the fantastic achievements of so many of our competitors, there will be prize giving and the usual 'bit of grub' provided after next Thursday's event down in Bolger's Bar (across from the Hypermarket), at about 9/9.30pm.
Week 9 proved that some of our guys are by no means finished breaking their own records. Liam Power showed he still has plenty of give by running the in the top race (time-wise) and finishing fantastically. Des Colbert is obviously doing some training on the sly, while brother is away in Espana, getting his time down to a speedy 5.23! Adele Walsh was the only female along on the night and showed return to form after slower pre and post holiday times! We had the usual, but by no means, run of the mill, head to head between James Sullivan and David Burke, with David again breaking the tape.  
Next week is your last chance to beat your own time before we close up that particular shop for the summer. Make sure to come along to the RSC before 7pm to register and warm up before lining up for the gun (the very loud gun!!)
