Road Runners
Winter League Week 1, Wednesday November 5th Well done to the 77 or so athletes, runners, joggers and walkers that braved a 100 mile an hour wind (or was that just me?) and driving rain to complete the 3 and 5 miles Winter League Routes. We had many, many new faces, so it looks like word is getting around that the RSC is the place to be on a Wednesday night for the next few months! Welcome to all those newbies and to all the familar (I won't say old, ok guys?) faces, oft missed on a Wednesday during the summer. Congratulations to Pat Giles, Brendan Aspel, Paul Mooney and the many, many others that completed the Dublin City Marathon only 9 days ago and still managed to cover the 5 miles tonight at a fine pace. Apologies for not having the other names to hand, feel free to tell me next week! No times were taken this week, but be ready next week to sprint to the finish! Remember now, no watches allowed and you must wear a reflective bib. We will have these available to buy each night at the cost price of EUR8.50. See you (and more no doubt) next Thursday! Thereafter, the League will continue to take place on a Wednesday night. Note change of night, for next week only! November 13th instead of 12th!!! Back to News |
