Title: The Blair Witch Project
Director: Daniel Myrick
Starring: Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard

Money wise this film has been the most successful fim ever! The film was made by two young directors and three untried actors and proves that in a world where people usually want high budget special effects films something like this can cause a sensation.

The film is constructed as a true story and this along with the realistic website among other things which were developed to publicise the film aimed to suggest that we were watching the footage of three college students who got lost in the black forest of Maryland while shooting a documentary on the Blair Witch. The makers of this film did not have a big budget behind them so they had to rely on playing on the audiences most primal fears to make the film effective. I think that if this movie had a big array of stars, a big budget and plenty of gory scenes it would not have been as successful or as effective. All of the three characters use there own names and their raw acting along with the realism of the amateur video all add to the effectiveness of this film. It follows the story of the three main characters throughout the film and their search to find the Blair Witch and this film is well worth a watch.
