Service of Welcome for new minister, Rev. Colin Milligan on 13 July 2008

Rev. Colin Milligan being welcomed as the minister to the churches in Cork, Kinsale & Youghal by Rev. Laurence Graham who continues as circuit superintendent but is now living in Killarney.

Special Music during the Service of Welcome was provided by visitors from USA who called themselves "With these Gifts" 

A full church on Christmas Day 2007 to worship the Christ child Hands up for Jesus as children help to light the Advent candles 

A happy event took place in the church in mid-August 2007 when the pastoral assistant, Paul Maxwell, married Nicola McGuire.

Conference Cork June 2007

The Installation of the new President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev. Roy Cooper (centre)took place in the Church of the Incarnation in Grange. 
He is pictured with Rev. Ivan McElhinney, outgoing President, and Rev. Graham Carter, President of the British Conference.

The main conference business sessions were held in the church at Ardfallen.  The picture on the right shows Rev. Dr. John Parkin presenting his usual colourful report on World Development and Relief.

Sunday Morning Worship had an overflow congregation and meals were provided in a marquee erected adjacent to the main house.

During the Morning Worship Service
Adam Armitage, son of Philip and Ashling Armitage was baptised

The Evening Worship was time for a joint celebration of Harvest with the
Ardfallen congregation being joined by Fr. Bernard Cotter and members of
his congregation from the Holy Family Church in St. Lukes.

Ecumenical Service of Thanksgiving & Remembrance
Members of the Ardfallen congregation were delighted join with members of the Holy Family Church to take part in an Ecumenical Service on Sunday 25 September 2005 to commemorate the 110th Anniversary of the opening of the church on Military Road in Cork. 
The church was originally built as a Methodist place of worship and continued in Methodist use until 1949 when, due to emigration and financial constraints,
the church was sold to the Roman Catholic Diocese and became the Holy Family Church (part of St. Patrick's Parish).

A theme of the service was "Christ the Light of the World" and involved the lighting of 2 candles from the Easter candle in the church and then the spreading of this light by lighting candles held by each member of the congregation.

Recent Happy Events at the Church

Visit of Micheál Martin, T.D.

The Minister for Health & Children, Mr. M. Martin, T.D. being presented with a bouquet of flowers by Mrs. M. Payne, the senior resident, to commemorate his visit to the housing complex on 25 November 2002.
(Mr. Martin officially opened the sheltered housing scheme in October 1992 when he was Lord Mayor of Cork.)
