Reception into Full Membership

A Service of Reception into Full Membership was held during morning worship on Sunday 27 November 2011 when 6 young people from Ardfallen affirmed their trust in Jesus Christ and were received as members of the Methodist Church.

Christmas 2010
Members of the Cork MWI (Methodist Women in Ireland),
Sheila Gratten, accompanied by Vera Wellcome,
presenting Christmas Gifts to Colin Jenkins, the local Cork representative of the Seamens Christian Friend Society. 
The gifts are later passed on to seamen visiting Cork.


October 2010 Dedication of Reconstructed Rooms

Sunday 10 October 2010 was a special day in Cork when, in the presence of the minister (Rev. Colin Milligan) and a large congregation, the newly reconstructed 'Wesley Room' and ancillary rooms were dedicated and officially opened by Rev. Brian Griffin, superintendent of the Midlands and South District.  Brian is a 'son' of the church in Cork.
The reconstruction work was completed over the summer months and was opened free of debt.

 

Congregational Lunch February 2010

Views of a Soup & Sandwich Lunch in the Hall in February 2010 when it was a good time to renew old friendships and have time to talk.

and playing in the Hall during the congregational lunch.


"Thank you, God, for the Harvest"


The Harvest Services were held on 4 October 2009
when the preacher was Rev. Robin Roddie
who had been the minister in Cork
when the Ardfallen Church was built 20 years ago.

Conference Cork June 2007

The Installation of the new President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev. Roy Cooper (centre)took place in the Church of the Incarnation in Grange. 
He is pictured with Rev. Ivan McElhinney, outgoing President, and Rev. Graham Carter, President of the British Conference.

The main conference business sessions were held in the church at Ardfallen.  The picture on the right shows Rev. Dr. John Parkin presenting his usual colourful report on World Development and Relief.

Sunday Morning Worship had an overflow congregation and meals were provided in a marquee erected adjacent to the main house.


 

Visit of the President of the Church in November 2005

The visit was a time to renew friendships and the President was glad to talk to Dianne Payne (left) and Janet Nairn (centre right)
During the visit to Cork the President and his wife stayed with Valerie's father,
Alan Elder and this shows a happy and proud family group

Visit of Micheál Martin, T.D.

The Minister for Health & Children, Mr. M. Martin, T.D. being presented with a bouquet of flowers by Mrs. M. Payne, the senior resident, to commemorate his visit to the housing complex on 25 November 2002.
(Mr. Martin officially opened the sheltered housing scheme in October 1992 when he was Lord Mayor of Cork.)
