Methodism was introduced to Kinsale
by Charles Wesley in 1748. John Wesley also visited the town at
least 8 times between 1750 and 1789. The first church was built in 1786 on Compass Hill at the top of the town. It was replaced in 1813 by a church on the same site. The present church. at the junction of Emmet Street and Market Quay, was built in 1873. |
