Cooley Distillery is continuing to show improved trading, with pretax profits last year up 60% to 344,000, while sales rose to 5.4 million from 5.1 million.

Cooley chairman Dr John Teeling said trading in the current year was also well up on last year, with sales up over 30%.

Cooley's growth in the domestic market has been inhibited by distribution difficulties. Cooley is now distributing its products through independent wholesalers and cash and carrys.
