There's a whole new world under the waves and you have a chance to view it when Wicklow Sub-Aqua Club hosts a public "Try-a-dive" night in early February, 2006.
Starting with a lecture at the Wicklow Sub-Aqua Clubhouse at Wicklow Harbour at 8pm, members of the public interested in joining the club can find out about the members and their activities, as well as getting the chance to view an introductory slide show.
Then it's down to Wicklow swimming pool where they will get a chance to discover the joys of breathing underwater in total safety on a short dive escorted by experienced club members.
If this unique sport appeals to you, you can apply to join Wicklow Sub-Aqua Club and will undergo a comprehensive - and free - training programme conducted by the club under the auspices of the Irish diving body, CFT. Qualification will equip you with a dive card that is recognised all over the world for recreational diving.
The open night and club membership is open to members of the public over the age of 17 - don't forget your swimming togs and a towel. The club draws its membership from all over Co Wicklow and south Dublin.
Prospective club members must pass a swimming test and a stringent medical.
