A marriage can be arranged with any of the Priests. Both the State and the Church now require that at least three months notice of marriage be given. It is important that the Church to be booked and a time of marriage specified. It is very important that couples getting married should complete the "Notification of Marriage" form at least three months prior to their wedding (contact the County Clinic (052) 22 011). There is also some documentation required by the Church. This normally includes a recently issued baptismal certificate, a pre-nuptial enquiry form, and if the party has lived away from their home Parish for six months or more continuously, a Letter of Freedom. Any of the Priests, by appointment, will be glad to assist you with these forms which take approximately twenty minutes to complete. It is expected that every couple marrying in the Church should participate in some pre-marital preparation, such as an ACCORD Course. The schedule of such courses is normally posted in the Church porches. Details can also be obtained from the ACCORD Office at the Pastoral Centre, Irishtown, (052) 24 144. In the diocese of Waterford and Lismore, marriages may not be celebrated on Sundays or on Holy Days. Organist (Ss.
