The Parish Office

Parish Area Committees

 For administration and pastoral convenience, the Parish is divided into six areas, each of which has its own Area Committee. A member of the Parish Team takes particular responsibility for each of these areas in collaboration with the Area Committee. (Map).

C.B. Radios

There are C.B. Radios available to Parishioners who are unable to attend Church. These will allow users to tune in to all Masses and Services in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Each weekday in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church from 11:00 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Parishioners and visitors are invited to spend a few quiet minutes in prayer and reflection before the Lord during exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

Novena Devotions to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

 Following the 7:30 p.m. Mass each Monday evening.

Eucharistic Ministers

The Parish Community is served by a Team of Eucharistic Ministers who assist at all the Sunday Masses and on other occasions. We welcome new members to this ministry at any time.

Readers

The reading of the Word of God is central to all our worship. Our Parish has a rota of readers for Sunday and weekday Masses. We would be delighted to welcome new members.

Parish Choir

 The Parish Choir, under the Direction of John Murray practices each Wednesday evening from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It sings at the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays. New members are welcome.

Folk Group

The Folk Group is composed mainly of young people from the second level schools. They sing at the 12:30 p.m. Mass each Sunday. New members are welcome.

Adult Folk Group

The Adult Folk Group sing at the 11:30 a.m. Mass in the Church of the Resurrection each Sunday. New members are welcome. Contact John Staunton.

Altar Servers

A special way in which our young people can be involved in our Churches and Parish is through serving Mass. Our team at present is mainly drawn from the Primary Schools in the Parish. New members are welcome.

Altar Society

Our altars and sanctuaries are decorated for every season by a small group of people who prepare and display beautiful flower arrangements. They would welcome new members and any gifts of flowers.

Collectors

All funds to maintain the Parish are collected in the basket collections on Sundays. We depend very much on a small team of collectors to perform this task each week. At the present time we need additional collectors so as to do this with efficiency and courtesy.

Apostolic Work Society

The members of the Society work to support our missionaries and people in developing countries in very practical ways. They produce liturgical vestments and altar requisites, as well as a variety of materials to assist the educational and developmental work of the missions.

Franciscan Missionary Union

Members share in and support the missionary work of the Franciscans. They meet in the Friary Hall on the first Monday of each month at 3:00 p.m.

Secular Franciscan Order

This is a religious order for lay people. Members commit themselves to living the gospel. The monthly meeting of the local fraternity takes place in the Friary on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. and includes the celebration of the Eucharist. The current local president is Michael Boden.

Community Play School

The playschool operates Monday to Friday in the Hall at the Church of the Resurrection, from 9:30 a.m. to 12.00 noon. It caters for 3-5 year olds. It costs £5.00 per week per child.

Faith Friends

The team of over thirty Faith Friends is drawn from the Fifth Year classes of the Second Level schools. On behalf of the Parish Community, they assist in the preperation of the children who are making their Confirmation. They do this work through the medium of a specially designed programme in which they work with the children over a period of weeks. The Faith Friends Programme is of benefit to both the children and the young adults who work with them.
