The parish pastoral Council produced it's first web page in
1999.
This was the culmination of a great deal of work by those involved.
It was very well received by the parishioners - both those
who were new to the parish as well as by those
who had lived here almost all their lives
Three years is not a long time in the life of a parish that is nearly 200
years old. But time does bring changes, Changes in the priest personnel of
the parish as well as the many new families that have come to live in the
parish in that time. We wish the priests that have transferred elsewhere
every happiness and blessing in their new appointments. We welcome new
parishioners and invite them to take an active part in our parish
community.
At Baptism we become members of the Church. Ours is a wonderful calling
and
perhaps we do not appreciate it sufficiently. This is how St. Peter put it
in chapter two of his first Epistle: "You are a consecrated nation, a
people
set apart to sing the praises of God, who called you out of darkness into
his own wonderful light." These are God's own words to us and about
us.
It is how He regards us and that is something we must never forget.
The parish is the local gathering of God's people. The welfare of any
parish depends on each of us making our contribution. The parish belongs to
everyone. The great challenge of our time is to find ways and
opportunities
for people to feel that they belong, that they do matter and can become
involved. I am hoping that this web page will both encourage you and
inspire you to become involved in one way or another.
I wish to thank those who helped with the original web page and also those
who have worked on this present one. Please add it to your favorites,
as we hope to keep it updated regularly.
I pray God's blessing on you and your family. May the peace of Christ ever
dwell in your hearts and in your home.
