Your Browser program must be set to use Java to chat at the Attic. (You'll be shown a message if it isn't). There is no other log-in procedure other than choosing a chat Handle to identify yourself. After you type a name, press the button marked 'Join'. You are then ready to chat.
There is a slight delay while the MultiCity network activates the chat room. In the meantime, you will see a grey rectangle on the screen. This is normal and represents where the chat room will be visible when active.

Unlike the Clubhouse, which is set up and ready to go, The Attic only becomes active when someone is actually present in it. Therefore, it has to be initiated from the page you're viewing now. Once active, however, it is accessible by other chatters in the Multicity network. You may also pass from one chat room in this network to another by using the appropriate controls. When the last visitor leaves the Attic, the room is disconnected from the network and can only be reinitated from this page. If you are alone at the Attic, and visit another chat room in the network, you will have to disconnect and restart your Attic session from here. This doesn't apply if someone is in the Attic when you leave. Complicated, huh? Well... not really. You'll figure it out. Be sure to read the Disclaimer, below, before using The Attic. Going there indicates you've read the Disclaimer and understand its implications. |

DISCLAIMER: The Attic is a chat room connected to many others, in a network of chat rooms supplied by Multicity.com. Therefore there are different types of rooms represented, some of which you may personally find distasteful. In the event that you are unhappy with a particular chat room you visit while there, either ignore it, or, if you feel you have to make a complaint to someone, send an email to webmaster@multicity.com . I take no responsibility for the subject matter you may find in someone else's chat room.
