Naming of the road

Named after a northern Itallian town on the river Po. Cremona was defended by Irish and French troops against a German invasion led by Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Prince did take the section defended by the French on 1st February 1702, but the Irish soldiers of the Dillon regimant under the command of Major O'Mahony forced the Germans into retreat and held the town.

This road runs parallel to Landen and Decies road. It contains an extra area for car parking.
