Naming of the road

An area of the south of Ireland owned by the McCarthy clan. Justin McCarthy was later made Earl of Mount Cashel and fought with Sarsfield against William of Orange.

He commanded a regiment which was played an important part in the Battle of Enniskillen. He went with the Wild Geese and joined the French army, becoming a fist class soldier earning honours in Savoy and Catalonia.

Details

A large grass area is located on this road and is used for recreation and during Halloween a bonfire is lit there by the local residents.
