To row a WaterRower is to experience a rarity. The smooth feel of water resistance and the responsive mass of the water flywheel are life-like and non-mechanical. A vibration-free seat and handle glide allow you to exercise in silence. With every stroke, you create the sound of rushing water and each stroke brings a different response.

The WaterRower offers a more realistic rowing 'feel', is very smooth in use and also looks appropriate in a domestic setting. The standard version is constructed with a light ash hardwood frame. Alternative woods are available to order - although I'd question the point in paying extra for another wood - the ash is a durable, attractive hardwood. The WaterRower is well designed, robustly built and stores upright very easily in about the same footprint as a small chair. It is very satisfying in use - I find the water and paddle design provides quite a good dynamic emulation of rowing. The resistance is smooth and progressive - it feels ‘natural’. As you build up speed the water whooshes round the tank faster, giving a satisfying sense of inertia to the whole experience. The WaterRower manual suggests that you may not realize how much work you are doing due to the smoothness of the water resistance and I can agree with that in my experience. It certainly provides an effective, low impact workout.
