It comes with a powerful 2.5 continuous duty HP motor. Continuous duty HP is the "working power" of a treadmill motor, providing constant power to the drive belt. The motors are built for endurance and reliability and are backed with an industry leading 10 year warranty. A popular feature on the Smooth 5.0P is the speed and incline controls conveniently located on the handles. This offers the stability of holding on to the side rails while making the proper adjustment. This fold-up treadmill is built with the patented Stability Extension System, which provides stability during even the most strenuous workout. It uses a torsion spring for folding making it lighter to lift and easier to fold down. The deck is 1" thick, phenolic laminate. This is the same thickness used in Commercial Treadmills. What We Like : This Smooth Fitness Treadmill has been Smooth’s best seller for several years now. For the $999 asking price, it has an 18’’ x 52” belt, huge 2.5 HP motor and 9 preset programs.To top all that off it feels like it will last a life time and with that 10 year warranty it probably will.

What We Dislike : Nothing really to dislike about this Smooth Fitness Treadmill, Ok if we wanted to be picky we could criticize the slight lack of equipment- such as a heart rate monitor.

The Smooth 5.0P Treadmill is afantastic machine with a great motor warranty. It is hard to beat this one in the under $1000 price range.
