At $100 or so less than the 400CS you forfeit the heart rate monitoring and have to make do with a smaller belt. The 400CS has about the smallest deck size I would be comfortable with so the extra is well worth it in my opinion. Plus a heart rate monitor will cost at least $50 anyway.

This model, the Weslo Cadence L290 is a far better Treadmill than the C22 because at least it has a decent motor, that puts out 2.0 HP and gives it a top speed of 10 mph. There is also that Floating Cushioned Deck.

The warranty is poor and the Floating Cushioned Deck is still too small but for $349….

As a comparison, Smooth treadmills from Smooth Fitness should be considered.In terms of build quality, design, and sheer value for money, these treadmills are better than other brands costing twice or three times as much – you will find it hard to beat Smooth Treadmills.
