Hi I'm Rachel and I am working as a Montessori Teacher in Happy Days since its opening in September 2006. I am married with three grown up children and have been working in childcare for 17 years.
I first worked as a playgroup assistant, after completing an I.P.P.A and N.C.F.E certificate. It was from this experience of working with young children, that I decided to study the Montessori Method of education and in November 2000 I received a diploma and a teaching certificate from the Montessori Education Centre in Dublin.
I then gained experience working as a Montessori Teacher and School Manager. I took up employment in full time day care and after completing a creative music course with the N.C.N.A I trained as a Gymboree Play and Music Instructor.
I am currently a member of St Nicholas's Montessori County Network and attend regular workshops on Montessori education. I have recently updated my First Aid certificate to a Paediatric First Aid certificate, have also completed a Handwriting With out Tears training workshop and I am hoping to complete a Fetac Level 6 Major Award in Child care, by the end of this year.
Finally on a more personal note, I really enjoy working with young children and take great pride in providing a safe, educational and nurturing environment for each child in my care.
