Union Quiz Final
Well
done to Martin Kinsella, Ciara Molloy, Jan Becker and
Orla Nolan who competed in the U11 National Finals of
the Credit Union Quiz at the RDS, Dublin yesterday.
While not coming away with prizes they nonetheless did
very well and received special certificates to mark
their participation. It was a great achievement for the
school and is the
second time for us to reach the National Finals.
School
Bus transport 2011/12
All
families currently availing of free bus transport to
school will have received letters from Bus Éireann
asking you to apply for next year. The abolition of the
“closed school rule” in the last budget means that
despite our location as a central school the distance
for eligibility for transport is changing to 2 miles
instead of 1 . As the 2 mile mark from Scoil Mhuire to
the village is at the Post Office in Campile this means
that all the estates at the top of the village will not
be entitled to bus transport unless they pay €200 per
year. Many schools are affected by this change and
parents are campaigning against it around the country
through their Parent Association. Our PA is willing to
take on the cause if parents are sufficiently interested
in the issue. The PA has a mobile contact no 089
4424655. Parents can text or leave a voicemail on this
number(it is not manned) or you can email scoilmhuirepa@gmail.com . Any updates or news
regarding the buses will be put on the PA section of the
school website www.scoilmhuirecampile.com

Tesco
Tokens
