Ways we can help Visually Impaired people

If your speaking to a visually impaired person don't shout because they might not necessarily be hard of hearing as well.

Before shaking hands with the person say would you like to shake hands before taking their hand.

Introduce others as well.

As you are guiding the person you need to tell them that there's a step ahead or that they are going up stairs.

Sometimes people find it hard to ask for help.

Don't leave things like banana skins or you bicycle on the ground as they might be in their way.

. If the visually impaired person has a guide dog, respect it because it is not a pet.

Don't assume that someone is totally blind.
