School Ethos

St. Pius X BNS is a Catholic school. We place a strong emphasis on academic achievement and, at the same time, we endeavour to promote the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the child: spiritual, cultural, physical and moral. Our policy is the pursuit of excellence across a whole range of activities, academic, artistic and sporting.
We welcome children of all races, creeds and abilities. We have a very positive policy on integration whereby all children are given an equal opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Our school has a pleasant and happy working atmosphere and we encourage everyone in the school community to contribute. At present the school community consists of 480 children, 24 teachers and 6 special needs assistants under the principalship of Mr. Dermot Lynch.
The school crest (top left of your screen) is an ornate representation of the name of the school. The school colours consist mainly of grey and navy with the school tie highlighting the crest colours.
