Mr Nolan's fourth class composed this story together as a class. Then there was a competition to find the best ending . Click on the names of the children below to see how they finished the story.

One warm summer's evening my cousin Jade and I set off for the beach. It was the last chance to feel the the sand between our toes before I returned to school. As we walked along the seashore we spotted a cave half hidden under a sand dune. We decided to explore it.

Brushing aside some seaweed at the entrance Jade and I peered inside. A long narrow passage opened ahead of us. I reach into my backpack and pulled out my torch. I held the torch firmly as we crept down into a large opening. The roof was moist and green strange markings lined the wall. I shone my torch into a rather large crack and there hidden in the corner were a number of clear plastic bags with white powder in them I stretched my hand in and lifted the bags out. The barrel of a shotgun lay covered in dust in the crack.

Jade and I pulled the gun out. Concealed under it was a glove.......a four fingered glove!
"That's odd!" remarked Jade as she held it.
"I think we've stumbled onto something here", I whispered.
"Drugs, a shotgun and a strange glove!"
"Let's phone the police on the mobile".

We made our way as quickly as we could to the entrance of the tunnel. Jade
punched in 999 and contacted the local police station.
Sergeant Maguire answered.
"We'll be there in ten minutes, miss," he promised. We waited impatiently
until we heard the sound of sirens in the distance.-

Down here!"Jade shouted as the door of the police car slammed shut.
"So you found some drugs girls,"Sergeant Maguire boomed.
"Well done!"
He reached out to shake Jade's hand. I gasped in horror as I noticed he
only hadfour fingers!.
I was frozen in shock as he calmly took my hand.
"Are you ok?" he enquired.
"Yes, i'm fine.I just need some air.Go on in, I'll follow you down".
As they headed for the cave I quietly slipped my mobile from my pocket.

With a shaking, I dialled Uncle Jim’s number I nervously explained to him what had happened. He promised to come right away. As I approached the cave I heard a conversation and then....... silence I immediately knew that there was some sort of problem as Jade was not talking the way she usually does I crept down the tunnel. The cave was empty. I drew in a sharp breath. A hand grabbed me from behind It tightened around my throat I felt the cold
Metal of a shotgun at my cheek
‘'Don’t move’'
As my eyes grew accustomed to the darkness .I noticed Jade struggling in the corner gagged and bound . Before I Knew it , I was flung beside her , my hands tied and my mouth taped
'I'll be writing a ransom note “Maguire said smugly..
