about Doolin

Doolin, a former fishing village in Northern Clare, is surrounded by green, soft-rolling hills and the Atlantic Ocean. It is the perfect location for a walking holiday, whether you walk in Doolin itself, along the Cliffs of Moher or in the nearby Burren.

The Cliffs of Moher as well as the Burren are only a 15-minutes-drive away.

Doolin – one of the centres for traditional Irish music, is famous for its three pubs where Irish folk music is played every night. You can also find a number of craft shops., music shops, restaurants and cafés here. The pubs also offer fresh sea food and other traditional cuisine.

From Doolin Pier you can look over to the famous Aran Islands. The ferries to the islands run daily and will take you to another world. A day on the islands will be an unforgettable experience. Enjoy walking or cycling across Inisheer, Inishman or Inishmore…and your soul will come to a rest!

The majestic Cliffs of Moher are just a few miles from Doolin and not only one of the highlights of CountyClare but of all Ireland.

They are 8 km long and 250 mtr high at their highest point. A must for every visitor to CountyClare!

The nearby Burren is a unique limestone landscape and has a beauty of its own. It is full of botanical riches and surprises with a variety of different flowers, plants and ferns, all growing side by side between the rocks.

Walking in the Burren offers spectacular views of Galway Bay. Why not come and “see the sun go down on GalwayBay

The Burren also reveals numerous ancient sites. The most famous one is “Poulnabrone Dolmenâ€, a Portal Tomb.

Another highlight you shoudn’t miss out on is “AillweeCaveâ€, where you can take an interesting guided tour.

But whatever you do in or around Doolin, it’s surely worth a stay and you will want to come back!.
